Recycled Airbag combat vest from Kanghyuk's first collection after completing his MA program. This piece utilizes Kanghyuk's signature recycled airbag fabrication. Milky off-white semitranslucent nylon marked with the visual artifacts of industrial manufacturing processes create a strikingly futuristic atmosphere. Chunky red chainstitching features as a topstitching accent but is sewn without the top locking thread, leaving loops on the outside as a raw textural detail. Here the airbags take on the form of an M69 combat vest with additional lower and upper chest pockets and a simplified mesh lining. Its cut boxy through the body with open, lace-shut sides that can be adjusted to suit different shapes and sizes, or so it can be flexibly worn both over and under other layers.
Finished with center front zipper with metallic zipper pull, shockcord-laced sides with metal cylindrical aglets, and red nylon webbing pulls and detailing throughout.
