Navy

Part of the Uniform for the British EOD (Explosives Ordnance Disposal), this jacket is part of a layered system of garments made to protect ammunition technical officers from the perils of their trade. Uniforms are typically cut from Kevlar and/or Nomex (or generally a blend of aramid fibers) to provide both heat-resistance and tensile strength. Four attachment points for a first line shrapnel-resistant ballistic vest are placed on the front at shoulders and waist while the loose cut allows for plastic or foam inserts that shield the officer from shockwave damage. A generous array of 3D utilitarian pockets line the back of the jacket, the specific tools to be stored in them kept a trade secret to prevent the development of counter-disposal measures.

7/10 Condition, with no rips or tears. Dirt throughout, more apparent on kevlar reinforcement panels at the elbows.
