From one of the earlier Number (N)ine collections is a truly remarkable jacket. I say remarkable because it is almost as if this jacket served as the basis for what we would begin to see after Takahiro's departure from Number (N)ine with TheSoloist. Look closely, almost all of the Soloist trademarks are there. Impeccable finishing, seldom-used fabrics, stunning attention to detail and the use of straps and buckles as purely aesthetic elements. The velour sheen on the piece is wonderful, the shape of the collar and that little dart on the shoulder are just excellent. Takahiro makes his presence known ever so subtly but yet so powerfully.
