Takahiro Miyashita draws inspiration from the design of military overpants for this pair of ultra-wide baggy cargos. This iteration is cut in a quilted nylon taffeta with primaloft insulation that has become a sort of namesake fabric utilized by The Soloist (Across AW17, AW18, AW19). It is ultra lightweight yet, thanks to the insulation, very bouncy, windproof, and lightly structured, creating a voluminous 3D shroud of warmth when worn. It features a slightly different fabrication from the other materials as the edges are finished in leather binding and the casings for the waistband and hem are also cut in supple lambskin. The patch pockets on this iteration are done in a super lightweight nylon taffeta and visually break up the quilted pattern. Cut adjacent to the wool/cashmere lined front slash pockets are button-closed slits that echo those of military overpants, openings that allow the wearer to access the pockets of any trouser worn underneath. The pants feature nylon-taffeta patch pockets sewn to the inside of the pants adjacent to the opening. Additional vintage military overpant inspiration is found in the triple layer overlapped fly, here finished with leather bound edges and two buttons at the waist. The pant is rounded out with drawstring webbing at waist and hem to belt down the intentionally-oversized trouser and/or alter the fit at the leg opening.
