From the post-apocalyptic fantasy that was Takahiromiyashita The Soloist Fall 2018, this blazer served as one of the main foundational pieces and features an intricate system of zippers and interior straps that introduce multiple ways of opening, wearing, fastening, and layering. Aquaguard zippers at the sides open from top and bottom, to create long side vents or to let backpack-style hip straps (that cinch the waist in like a corset in lieu of a button front closure) emerge from the inside of the jacket. The same watertight zippers are also set vertically along the sleeves, converting blazer to cape with the bottom of the sleeves trailing behind. At the upper chest, a harness with both horizontal and crossbody strap fastening adds a layered look under the notch lapel and also allows the jacket to be worn draped behind as a backpack. All these accoutrements allow the classic "blazer" to morph into new shapes and silhouettes, and transforms how it can interface with other garments. The aggressive and intricate detailing doesn't just add edge and flair, it also brings a world of styling possibilities.
Finished with leather bound edges on harness straps, a cashmere fringe scarf half-back lining with chainstitched "T.M." embroidery, and Soloist engraved buttons at the cuffs. Features four interior pockets--two drop waist pockets and two on-seam pockets at upper chest were lining meets face fabric.
