The Kozaburo signature short 3D bootcut jean is a truly new expression of the traditional denim jean that marries past with future. It features curved 3D patternmaking and thoroughly reconsidered construction (via a super high waist, yokeless darted seat, and tight, articulated leg with a dramatic flare underneath the knee) that yield a flattering and sculptural fit. The kick flare here is reinvented and reinvigorated, with a hem that stands off the body, changing from one angle to the next--it seems to be always spiraling around the leg, giving the shape an air of movement and dynamism.
Triple stitched inseams and riveted reinforcements are like the 3D bootcut carrying forward the durability of its 'jean' archetype, with the dark tonal color of the stitching here creating a more minimal atmosphere and letting the shape and textile speak.
The denim used in this iteration features an all over jacquard woven calligraphy pattern written by Kozaburo's Buddhist monk friend. It's subtle, being woven in black on overdyed indigo twill but with time and wear the pattern will peek through, adding a layer of evolution to look forward to alongside the typical raw denim fading patterns. This pair here is already starting to wear in beautifully and shows just a small bit of what these could become as they age with you.
Made in Japan 8/10 Condition, with a couple small tears in the fabric in low wear areas that can be easily repaired. Fabric has softened from the raw state and there is fading throughout.
Fit Notes: Tight fit everywhere except below the knee. Super high waist that can accommodate 30-31," a slim 32 could also wear these tight or with the top button undone.
