Riding Boots have become a defining element of a new androgynous menswear. As a garment they are decidedly neutral but their challenging height and shape invite (and sometimes require) new ways of wearing clothes that break preconceptions of gendered dress. It’s a literal twist to “dressing from the bottom up” as they provide the fresh proposition of letting your footwear provide cover for your legs. The armorlike leather sheathing the lower leg opens up new possibilities for silhouette, providing an aggressive foundation and masculine counterpoint to skirts, A-line coats, even the winter short. Tucking slimmer trousers is an option as well, with the break and textural contrast inviting various styling/layering twists.
About the Product:
Calf-height harness pull-on riding boots from Miu Miu Men's. Originally conceived with a plain leather sole, we've added a Vibram lug in two parts to give the boots some heft and adapt them for true winter use. They feature a slightly square toe yet still retain an amazingly sleek silhouette. Surprisingly challenging and versatile, they are great with slim trousers tucked in, flared/wide pants, or even shorts/skirts.
Made in Italy 9/10 Condition, freshly resoled with added Vibram lug sole and conditioned.
Fit Notes: Tagged a size 7 but suitable for for a US 8.5-9 (EU 41.5-42)
