An amalgamation of civilian workwear, 70s cowboy embellishments, and traditional ceremonial silk, these workwear cargos are a synthesis that perfectly encapsulates the cross cultural, visual research-driven practice that Xiang Gao explores with Penultimate. These cargos are cut with a straight leg and feature slash pockets, back patch pockets, and half-gusseted side cargo pockets with flap closure. They clash the blue polyester Chinese exercise suits worn by elderly tai chi practitioners with the stud/crystal embellishment that hints eastward towards Mongolion wrestling uniforms or westwards towards 70s flamboyant cowboy gear. The result is a beautifully ambiguous piece of wearable art that simultaneously exudes both glamorous excess and quotidian soberness. A true representation of the 'After Party' this collection is named after.
